linzfest 'II

3rd year in row - one of the nicest one-day-festivals
chilled atmosphere sitting in the green grass next to the danube in linz. the amazing lentos on the left side, the fm4 stage right in front of us.

ezra furman and the harpoons played in the late afternoon. too early. but no matter how they would have turned it, 6 o'clock is always too early. gorgeous ezra with beard and short hair and a huge smile on his face, playing a set mixed with new and old stuff, totally catchy, making me tap my feet (too sober to perform weird dance moves) and fill my heart up with warmth haha. this creation of folk, rock and his outstanding voice works very well.
ja, panik were up next. second time in may (popfest!) I saw them. second time they base their set mainly on new material. good decision. I missed 'pardon' but was very happy to see them singing 'nevermind' again with everyone singing his part (quite sure why andreas spechtl is the actual singer in the band). they should have played longerlongerlonger, I wished they played DMD KIU LIDT, but it might not be suitable for a festival set of this lenght, what a pity.

we took it easy afterwards. watching noah and the whale from a fair distance, due to the good sound it made no difference. nice set! go-happy meets melancholy, I def dig that! and the sun goes down over linz. peaceful, the world lays me down. so right!

steinhof

call it fascination or obsession. I can loose myself into architecture, especially when it comes to churches. visiting steinhof, the otto wagner hospital and this amazing church. sitting. watching it. drawing it. taking pictures of it. wondering whether this tree in front of me is a larix or not.
